Particleboard and Furniture Board

Particleboard is typically the most budget-conscious vanity-box material. It is made from compressed wood particles and resin, often covered with laminate, thermofoil, or veneer. It can provide a neat appearance and useful storage at a lower initial cost.

Its weakness is moisture. If water penetrates the surface or exposed edges, particleboard can swell, crumble, and lose structural integrity. This is a frequent issue around sink cutouts, plumbing openings, and vanity bases after a toilet overflow or small supply-line leak.

Do Not Choose the Vanity Cabinet Without Considering the Countertop
